What a Day captures the peace of sitting outside in stillness after a long, hectic day. It can feel like a breath of fresh air for the soul. As you sit in silence, the weight of the world begins to lift, and a calm settles in, allowing you to simply exist in the moment, free from worries. It’s a chance to reset, recharge, and savor the serenity of nature’s quiet embrace.
This photograph was taken at Jones Point Park in south Old Town, Alexandria. I came across two men reminiscing about the “good ol’days" while I also enjoyed the outdoors, strolling with my camera. The man is sitting on the front porch of the historic lighthouse, built in 1855. Jones Point Park was a critical piece of the city of Alexandria's history as one of the largest centers for shipping, manufacturing, and transportation in the nation. This photograph not only captures a tender moment from the past but also reflects my passion for encapsulating stories that go beyond a single frame.
